How to build an interactive sports wall
Mount a projector and camera on a ceiling mount facing the wall, connect them to a mini PC running Motioncube Player and calibrate the projected area. Players throw balls at the wall and the system registers every impact.
Projector + Camera + Mini PC → Wall surface → Players interact by throwing balls
Mount hardware
Install the projector and camera on a ceiling mount facing the wall. Keep a safe distance between the hardware and the playing area.
Connect & install
Connect both devices to a mini PC running Windows 11. Install Motioncube Player and activate your licences.
Calibrate
Calibrate the projection to the wall surface. Add roughly 10 cm (4 inches) of margin from the edges of the projected area.
Play
Launch the ball game collections. Players throw balls at the wall and every impact is registered instantly.
Step-by-step setup
The ball wall can be built with a depth sensor or with a laser touch kit. Both calibration procedures are covered end to end.
Depth sensor setup — Orbbec Astra 2
Motioncube Player (Beam) · Orbbec Astra 2 depth sensor · projector · two balls
Laser touch setup — Owayboard Laser Touch Kit
Motioncube Player (Beam) · Owayboard laser touch kit · projector · two balls
